IPTV Smarters Pro: what it is and how to set it up safely

By the IPTV Fox TV editorial teamLast reviewed 5 min read

Short answer

IPTV Smarters Pro is a media player app, not a TV service. It contains no channels of its own: you add the login details from an IPTV provider (an Xtream Codes login or an M3U playlist link) and the app plays that provider's channels. Its developer now presents the app as “Smarters Pro”. Install it only from the official app stores linked on the developer's website, because many look-alike sites offer modified downloads.

What IPTV Smarters Pro is and isn't

Think of IPTV Smarters Pro as the TV remote and screen layout for an IPTV subscription you already have. It organizes live channels, films and series into sections, shows a program guide when your provider supplies one, and plays the streams. What it does not do is supply any content. The developer's App Store listing describes it as a standalone media player that does not provide, host or sell any channels, and says users must add their own legally acquired media.

That distinction matters when you're shopping around. If a website offers “IPTV Smarters with thousands of channels included”, it is bundling the free app with a subscription of unknown origin. The app and the service are separate things, and you should judge the service on its own terms. Our checklist on how to choose the best IPTV service covers what to ask.

IPTV Smarters Pro or Smarters Pro?

You'll see both names. Many people still search for “IPTV Smarters Pro”, which is the name the app has been known by for years. The developer's current website, smarterspro.com, presents the app as Smarters Pro, and the App Store listing it links to is published by Tech Smarters Private Limited. When you install, check that the publisher matches the one linked from the developer's site rather than relying on the app name alone.

Where to download it from

These are the official channels the developer's website listed when we reviewed it in October 2026. Availability changes, so always start from the developer's site or your device's own app store.

The developer's site didn't list an Amazon Fire TV version when we checked. Newer Fire TV sticks running Vega OS only install apps from the Amazon Appstore, so check what your model supports. Our Firestick guide explains the difference between Fire OS and Vega OS.

How to set up IPTV Smarters Pro

  1. Install the app from your device's official store, using the listing linked from the developer's site.
  2. Open the app and choose to add a new user or playlist.
  3. Pick Login with Xtream Codes API if your provider gave you a server URL, username and password. Enter a playlist name of your choice, then the three details exactly as sent, including any http:// and :port.
  4. Or pick the M3U option and paste the full playlist link if that's what your provider supplied.
  5. Save, then wait while the app downloads channels, films, series and the program guide. Large lists can take a minute or two.
  6. Open Live TV and play a channel to test. If the guide is empty, refresh it from the app's settings.

If you're not sure which login type to use, read Xtream Codes login explained and M3U playlists explained. Xtream Codes is usually the easier option on a TV remote.

Using it on Windows, Mac or a web browser

The developer lists desktop builds for Windows and macOS, but labels them as beta versions, so expect rough edges. A browser-based player is also listed. On Apple silicon Macs, the App Store may offer the iPad version, which the listing notes isn't verified for macOS. For the smoothest experience on a big screen, a TV device is usually a better choice than a laptop.

Is it free?

The App Store listing shows a free download with an optional in-app purchase for premium features. Prices and feature lists change, so check the listing on your device rather than relying on third-party sites. Remember that any app fee goes to the app's developer and is separate from your IPTV subscription.

Is using IPTV Smarters Pro legal?

A media player app is a lawful piece of software. What matters is the content you play in it: a service needs the rights to the channels it streams. Our explainer Is IPTV legal in the US? sets out the rules and the warning signs of an unlicensed service.

Key takeaways

  • IPTV Smarters Pro (now presented as Smarters Pro) is a player. Your provider supplies the channels.
  • Download it only from the official stores linked on the developer's website, and check the publisher.
  • Log in with Xtream Codes where possible; use M3U if that's what your provider gives you.
  • App fees are separate from your subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Does IPTV Smarters Pro come with channels?

No. It's a player only. You need a subscription from an IPTV provider and the login details they send you.

Can I use the same login on my phone and my TV?

Usually yes, but each device streaming at the same time uses one of your plan's connections. See using IPTV on multiple devices.

Why can't I find it on my Fire TV Stick?

The developer's site didn't list a Fire TV version when we checked, and Vega OS sticks only install Amazon Appstore apps. A Google TV or Android TV device has an official listing.
