Device guide
You can watch IPTV on many Smart TVs by installing a player app from the TV's own app store and entering your login. What's available depends on the TV's operating system: Google TV models have the widest choice, Samsung and LG have fewer options, and Roku TVs are the most limited — where a separate streaming stick is often the simpler route.
Device testing in progress
We haven't yet published a tested app list for this platform. Before you buy, check that a player app supporting Xtream Codes or M3U is available in your device's app store.
Covers: Samsung (Tizen) · LG (webOS) · Sony, TCL, Hisense with Google TV · Roku TVs (limited)
Find your TV's operating system: it's usually shown in Settings → Support → About (Samsung), Settings → General → About this TV (LG), or Settings → System → About (Google TV).
Open the TV's app store (Samsung Apps, LG Content Store or Google Play) and search for an IPTV player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U.
Install the app. Some Smart TV players ask you to activate the app on their website using a code or the TV's MAC address — this is the app's own process, separate from your IPTV subscription.
Open the app and choose the option to add a playlist or login. Pick Xtream Codes (enter the server URL, username and password exactly as sent to you) or M3U URL (paste the full playlist link).
Load the program guide and test a few channels. If the picture stutters, connect the TV with an Ethernet cable.

| Platform | Brands (US) | Where apps come from | IPTV app choice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google TV / Android TV | Sony, TCL, Hisense, Philips | Google Play Store | Widest |
| Tizen | Samsung | Samsung Apps | Moderate |
| webOS | LG | LG Content Store | Moderate |
| Roku OS | Roku, TCL Roku TV, Hisense Roku TV | Roku Channel Store only | Very limited |
| Fire TV Edition | Insignia, Toshiba, Amazon Omni | Amazon Appstore | See Firestick guide |
If your TV runs Fire TV, follow the Firestick and Fire TV guide instead. If it runs Google TV or Android TV, the Android TV guide has more detail on choosing an app from Google Play.
Smart TV processors are often slower than a current streaming stick, app stores on Samsung and LG are smaller, and TV makers stop updating older models. If your TV has no suitable player app, or playback is sluggish, a Google TV or Fire OS streaming device plugged into the HDMI port usually gives a better experience for a modest cost.
Yes, if a player app supporting Xtream Codes or M3U is available in Samsung Apps for your model. Availability varies by model year, so check the store on your TV before subscribing.
Roku only installs apps from its own Channel Store, which has very few IPTV players. Most Roku owners get a better result by adding a Google TV or Fire OS device.
Ethernet whenever possible. TVs are usually stationary, and a cable avoids most of the interference that causes buffering.
